Aerotek Compressor Test Technician in Amherst, New York
The primary purpose of this position is to perform the duties associated with the execution of durability and performance testing of automotive/ A/C compressors working with a team of engineers and technicians. This is a first shift opportunity, but looking for candidates that are open to working second shift as needed.
Understand and execute automotive A/C compressor tests efficiently and correctly. Includes test bench setup with appropriate instrumentation, compressor mounting bracket and refrigerant manifold connections for mechanical and electrical A/C compressors
Become proficient in test bench operation – mechanical/electrical/control systems
Interface with PC based electronic test request system
Diagnosis of test compressor/test bench issues
Performing test bench maintenance/ mechanical testing
AS Degree in mechanical/automotive technology is preferred or 5-10 years of hands-on experience including demonstrated diagnostic skills in a related automotive or technical field
Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with basic mechanic’s hand tools
Good written and oral skills – ability to convey technical concepts
Ability to manage time and effectively work with multiple test benches
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Good results orientation and strong work ethic
Ability to work independently and to apply critical thinking techniques to solve problems.
Ability to work in a hands-on, team environment
Preferred Qualifications :
Automotive/Residential/Commercial HVAC refrigeration experience
Experience in development testing of precision products for 2+ years
Strong mechanical aptitude/knowledge of automotive A/C refrigerant systems
