Unilever Compounder Junior Operations, Manufacturing Compounding - 2nd Shift in Amityville, New York
Jr. Compounder in a manufacturing environment is responsible for reviewing the request for orders of fragrance oils and determines appropriate production method by performing the following duties.
Assure compound formulas are weighed accurately and correct ingredients are used, and ensure that the best methodology for production is utilized based upon the particular product or mix.
Possess and apply working knowledge of all raw materials before use, mixing/heating to ensure quality and consistency in batches.
Possess and apply working knowledge of all pumps, mixers, scales, high density storage units, meters and computer.
Fill out daily scale logs on all scales to be used prior to start of shift. Any discrepancies notify supervisor.
Follow all manufacturing instructions on formula batch sheet using proper compounding techniques to ensure product quality.
Follow all Good Manufacturing procedures to maintain good housekeeping and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental laws and regulations.
Enforce company safety policies and practices by maintaining accountability
Assist Compounders to ensure products are made in accordance with SOP and CGMP
Discharge batches as needed.
Conform to SOP’s and CGMP regarding cleaning and manufacturing operations
Be able to clean and sanitize all manufacturing equipment
Record all cleaning activities in appropriate logbooks
Be able use personal protection equipment as needed
Provide on the job training and instruction to Cleaners/Sanitizers
Keep a clean and tidy work area
Other duties as needed
High school diploma or a GED certificate from a certified institution (REQUIRED)
Ability to operate any manufacturing equipment (Mixers, tanks, DI system, Steam and chiller systems, pumps, mills, etc.)
Ability to read / write and speak clearly
Ability to read, write and speak English. Spanish a plus
Ability to correctly measure, calculate and make conversions KG, LBS or GRS
Jr compounder must have basic mathematics skills as well as a solid understanding of the metric system.
