Pharmacist - Inpatient Pharmacy Services with Ascension Lourdes in Binghamton, New York
This is a full-time and rotating shift position with the expectation to work every third weekend and a shared holiday rotation. Previous hospital experience is preferred. In addition to fulfilling medication orders in an efficient and safe manner, you will serve as a clinical preceptor and provide education to our pharmacy students. You will also round with our interdisciplinary teams to optimize medication therapy and ensure safe and effective regimens. The ideal candidate must be willing to take on various pharmacy activities such as drug utilization review, formulary management, drug monitoring or other related activities to maintain the integrity of the pharmacy department. You will represent the pharmacy department at interdepartmental meetings or committees as needed and you will participate in the development of the pharmacy department within the organization to advance the pharmacy profession.

What You Will Do
As an Associate with Ascension Lourdes in Binghamton, New York, you will have the opportunity to assure the appropriate selection, dosing, administering, and dispensing of medication orders.
Reviews and assesses medication orders to identify, prevent and resolve potential and actual drug related problems. Recommends formulary alternatives when appropriate.
Compounds and dispenses medications for accurate delivery to patients.
Provides drug information and education to medical staff and patients.
Communicates with physicians and other clinicians as necessary to facilitate care.
Oversees technical personnel who assist in the preparation, maintenance, and dispensing of medications and supplies. Assists with academic functions such as serving as a preceptor for pharmacy students. May float to provide coverage of pharmacy needs.
Provides patient counseling efficiently and effectively when required.
What You Will Need
Pharmacist credentialed from the New York Board of Pharmacy obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Education & Work Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy required Pharmacy residency preferred.
BS Pharmacy Required, PharmD Preferred.
