Rescue Mission is seeking a fulltimeRegional Directorto work in ourBinghamton Facilities.Guided by the mission and objectives of the organization, the Regional Director is responsible for achieving business and community objectives. This position is accountable for the operation of the regional program and, with the support of the Executive Team, is responsible for donor and community relations. Some weekend hours and on-call status will be necessary.
Duties & Responsibilities:
60-70% time focused on DIRECTING the program, including:
Establishing and modeling the organization’s mission, vision and values.
In collaboration with the Executive Team, develop a clear vision for the regional presence and communicate that to key stakeholders.
Establishing strategic plans and objectives for the regional program which complement and are consistent with the organization’s strategic plan, and furthermore, providing direct oversight for the execution and reporting progress to date of the plan.
Establishing annual and long-term budgets for the regional area in collaboration with Executive Team members. Responsible for oversight, monitoring and reporting of the region’s fiscal stability.
Developing, measuring and reporting metrics of regional outputs and outcomes, as well as reporting progress to goals.
Managing grant and reporting requirements as outlined by NYSSHP and other funding streams.
Monitoring and remaining current with legal and regulatory requirements that affect operations and program success.
Responsibility for hiring, training, performance management, and evaluation of program staff; sets measurable goals for self and staff.
Developing and maintaining a work environment that attracts and motivates a diverse staff.
Communicates to Executive Team regional strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats that further or are a barrier to strategic goals.
Maintains a collegial relationship with Executive Team members, committees and staff that fosters collaboration and productivity.
Promotes a safety first attitude by setting a positive example and ensuring all employees are following safety policies and procedures.
Regular and predictable attendance is an essential requirement of the job
30-40% of time focused on GROWING the program, including:
Seeking out and building relationships with the potential individual and corporate donor population so as to increase financial, volunteer and/or fellowship contributions to the organization.
Identifying and leading fund-raising and resource development initiatives, including participating in fund-raising events in which the Regional Director’s presence is needed to generate attendance and/or publicity.
Developing and maintaining a positive professional reputation in the regional community.
Serving as “the face of the Regional Rescue Mission” and being an articulate and passionate spokesperson for the organization so as to create and sustain a positive public image. This position secures opportunities to speak to the purpose and value the organization brings to the community via the media, business community, educational community, religious community, and foundations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor degree in operations management, business management, human services, entrepreneurialism or equivalent; and approximately 5-7 years pervious similar experience.
Master degree preferred
Valid NYS Driver License
Experience in supervising, coaching and developing staff
Experience in public development, fund-raising, and awareness
Strong leadership skills, including ability to develop and foster trust-based relationships; ability to inspire others with a vision of what they can contribute; and skill in influencing others to generate buy-in.
Ability to build personal relationships, prospect research, network, and establishing contacts with funders.
Exceptional customer service skills with all customer populations
Ability to think strategically to analyze current state and develop action plans to achieve objectives.
Analytical skills to visualize, articulate, and solve complex human services needs in a pragmatic approach.
An innate focus on outcomes and achievements; results-driven
Financial acumen, including skill in interpreting financial statements and understanding the strategies, decisions, and objectives that impact financial stability.
Ability to problem-solve; skill in analytical review and systematic approach
Ability to develop innovative and creative approaches to end homelessness

Public speaking and presentation skills
Knowledge and skill in using Microsoft Office and Outlook software
Some weekend hours and on-call status will be necessary.
