We are looking for a Project Manager/Superintendent (Construction Management) to join our team in Rochester, NY or Buffalo, NY!
What You'll Do: You would be the person responsible for the proper and timely execution of the various projects assigned to manage. This role will also be vital in developing long term clients thru their interactions with client staff or consultants.
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor of Science in engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or similar related education, or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
8+ years of experience in construction operations, project management, field supervision in a management role.
Project Management education or certification from an industry recognized institution is preferred.
Has demonstrated experience in all phases of project construction thru actual experience.
Has a current OSHA 30 Hour certification or can obtain it.
Has some basic skills and experience with cost estimating and contract procurement.
Has training and experience in creating, maintaining, and managing project scheduling utilizing an industry accepted software such as MS Project or Primavera.
Proficient in all MS Office Suite of tools
Experienced with using construction industry project management software similar to Procore

Essential Functions of the Project Manager/Superintendent:
Receive, review, approve, and manage the project shop drawings.
Receive, review, approve, and manage the project Requests for Information (RFI).
Receive, review, approve, and manage project documentation such as meeting minutes, inspection reports, general correspondence.
Receive, review, approve, and manage the project shop drawings.
Develop and implement a project specific quality plan utilizing the corporate guidelines, expectations, and general industry practices.
Assist with preconstruction activities such as drawing reviews, quantity takeoff, bid solicitation, contacting vendors for pricing, and preparation of the project estimate spreadsheet.
Assist in the preparation of project bidding to subcontractors such as contacting subs for interest, distribution of bid documents, answering questions, compiling bids received, and participating in bid analysis and scope reviews.
Be the single point of contact and responsibility for all project related performance for safety, schedule, budget, quality and communications.
Assist the Environmental Health & Safety Manager (EHSM) in preparing project specific safety plans for their projects.
Perform routine safety inspections when on the project site and document all observations.
Manage and be responsible to procure any necessary permits, approvals, licenses, etc. necessary to complete the project.
When applicable, engage with the design team during the design process to provide preliminary, scheduling, constructability reviews, or general input that will provide for a better project outcome.
Prepare, manage, and update a detailed project schedule thru the entire duration of the project.
Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other construction personnel to effectively manage the project and expectations.
Employ problem solving skills to address delays, emergencies, or other issues.
Assist in the review and approval of potential subcontractors to be added to the approved vendor list.
Prepare all subcontracts or purchase orders necessary for each trade required for the project and manage thru execution and filing.
Review all requests for change order for accuracy and completeness, prepare corresponding request or approval from the client and execute the issuance of client approved changes.
Prepare monthly project reports such as project status, billings due, indicated outcome reports (IOR's) as required.
Conduct regular project meetings on the project site in coordination with the superintendent to address any project issues, track progress, inspect quality, and overall project status.
Review all monthly subcontractor requests for payments, access accuracy, and approved amount for invoice to the client.
Review all required documentation from monthly invoices to ensure necessary waivers, or similar documentation is received.
Provide overall project leadership and direction.
Ensure the success of assigned projects including safety goals, schedule, quality control, risk management, financial performance, and client satisfaction.
Handle all aspects of the project including contract terms negotiation, planning, and final agreement.
Resolve problems, completes inspections & audits, identifies trends, anticipates issues, determines systems or process improvements, and implements corrective actions.
Meets financial objectives of projects by forecasting requirements, preparing budgets, scheduling resources, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
Endeavor to become trusted advisor to the client and establish a personal relationship with key people in the client's organization to foster future business
Mentor other Project Mangers or Project Engineers in aspects of their duties and responsibilities.
Serve as the primary client manager for DJB when appropriate or requested.
Directly supervise project staff assigned to your project, provide guidance and direction, and perform necessary supervisory functions.
Routinely completes field or project site visits and may have to climb stairs, ladders, or utilize other means to access particular areas of a project site during construction
