Ascension Lourdes in Binghamton, New York is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse Supervisor with our Recovery Room Department. You will utilize your leadership skills to manage the day-to-day supervision of both licensed and non-licensed associates in the delivery of exceptional care to our surgical patients. You will report directly to the Nurse Manager and work closely with our multidisciplinary care teams and medical staff providers to create standards of excellence and to promote a culture of appreciation, belonginess, inclusivity, diversity and equity with your Team. What You Will Do

As an Associate with Ascension Lourdes in Binghamton, New York, you will have the opportunity to supervise, coordinates, and provides leadership while directing activities of clinical/non-clinical or interdisciplinary teams of licensed and non-licensed caregivers and support staff delivering quality patient care and ensuring implementation of clinical objectives in an assigned area.

Responsibilities:

  • Assesses daily patient care needs and develops and distributes patient care assignments of clinical/non-clinical or an interdisciplinary team of licensed and non-licensed caregivers and support staff, ensuring thatpopulation appropriate patient care is given.

  • In accordance with the applicable State Nurse Practice Act, delegates appropriate duties to clinical/non-clinicalor interdisciplinary teams of licensed and non-licensed caregivers and support staff based on their assessed skills and abilities.

  • Gathers information from other members of the clinical/non-clinical or interdisciplinary team and uses this data to plan for the care of all patients on the unit for the shift.

  • Evaluates the care delivered by other licensed and non-licensed caregivers and support staff by providing direct and immediate feedback and coaching, ongoing verbal and written feedback to the clinical/non-clinical leader on the performance of staff and evaluating the performance trends under his/her direction and recommends and participates in corrective/disciplinary action as required.

  • Participates in the hiring process for new staff members assigned to the shift by conducting interviews and making hiring recommendations to the clinical/non-clinical leader.

What You Will Need

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

  • Required Credential(s):

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the New York Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

  • Diploma

  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required

Work Experience:

  • 1 year of experience required.
