WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Project Manager for our Binghamton NY office.
Duties and Responsibilities
Come join us in shaping the future of energy! Be a part of WSP’s rapidly expanding Power Generation team, solving our client’s complex challenges and helping them achieve their goals.
Our WSP USA Energy Sector needs a Senior Project Manager to join our Power Generation group based in our New York office. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for various projects such as central power/heating & refrigeration plant (co-generation, combined heat and power, boiler, chiller, emergency generation, trigeneration) as well as heating, ventilation and cooling (HVAC) projects for industrial, commercial and institutional clients. This is an excellent opportunity for a proficient project manager with a proven track record to support the expansion of WSP project management capabilities for a national client base in an internationally recognized global firm.
The prime function and basic objective of this position is to lead the project team and is responsible for achieving the project objectives. The Project Manager is responsible to lead the project through Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring & Controlling, and Closing. Functions include: direct and coordinate activities of the design, construction, and commissioning of large capital projects, have the responsibility of the planning, procurement and execution of a project, in any undertaking that has a defined scope, defined start and a defined finish.

Responsible for all aspects of the successful completion of assigned projects including:

Procurement Management
Develop costs estimates for systems.
Provide support during construction activities.
Attend meetings with clients, agency and project team.
Manage project financial performance, project scheduling, and project execution.
Work with internal and external team members to ensure projects are completed on time and on budget.
Maintain positive relationships with existing clients and cultivate relationships with new clients, providing consistent, reliable communication to promote additional services and future business.
Review, support, and execute the development of proposals for new clients and/or projects.
Participate in client and/or educational presentations as required.
Some travel is anticipated.

Job Requirements
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 10+ years of project management experience for engineering and construction projects in the power sector.
Extensive knowledge of construction methods, practices and contracts. Combined with a significant history of successfully managing Utility Scale substation and T-Line projects
PMP preferred.
Proven track record of successful project execution.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the willingness to accept accountability, solicit involvement from team members, and provide steady and fair leadership.
