API Heat Transfer Design Engineer in Buffalo, New York

API Heat Transfer is seeking talented Design Engineers! These will be hybrid positions working partially from our Buffalo facility and partially remote.

What You Will Do:

The Design Engineer will support strategic and ongoing customer engagements by providing designs, calculations, drawings, BOMs, etc. for both conventional and complex product initiatives.

  • Use ASME code calculations to fulfill complex customer specifications, as well as develop calculation tools for applications where calculation tools do not exist

  • Prepare simple and complex layouts for components and subassemblies with focus on designing for cost and manufacturability

  • Partner with manufacturing, purchasing, application engineering, and sales to deliver customer projects

  • Support the team with validating each other’s output, analysis of results, and other efforts to produce world-class products

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or Mechanical Engineering Technology

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD design; Solidworks desired

  • At least 2 years’ experience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, and Shell & Tube heat exchangers

  • Collaborative, analytical, and solution focused

  • Experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment desired
