Long Island Select Healthcare, Inc. Medical Receptionist - Full Time in Central Islip, New York


Long Island Select Healthcare Inc. (LISH) is a comprehensive network of community health centers under a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) model. We provide Article 16 and 28 clinic services at 8 locations across Suffolk County, New York.

LISH is currently searching for Full Time Medical Receptionists for our Central Islip location. We are seeking a positive, energetic, detail oriented person to manage a variety of responsibilities for this busy health clinic. Applicant must be able to work Full-Time, M-F, from 10am - 6pm. Bilingual in English/Spanish Strongly preferred.

General duties include:

Answering phones, patient check-in and check-out, scheduling appointments, and verifying insurance. Candidates must be able to calculate patients’ portion of the bill, collect co-pays, and enter charges (charge entry). Strong communication skills required and ability to work in a fast paced environment.


  • 1-3 years medical office experience, preferably in a fast paced physician practice/clinic.

  • Scheduling Software and EMR experience (eClinicalWorks desirable)

  • Bilingual (Fluent) in English and Spanish is strongly preferred

  • Customer friendly attitude

  • Ability and Means to travel between sites

  • High school diploma, General Education Diploma (GED), or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSE) required; College degree preferred


  • Depending upon experience, hourly rate of pay for this position ranges from $16.00 to $18.66
