Position Summary - Electrical Engineering Technician The purpose of this job is to perform a very wide variety of electrical maintenance tasks including but not limited to maintenance work such as installation, fabrication, assembly, set-up, diagnosis, troubleshooting maintenance work on plant equipment, services and facilities requiring the use of hand and maintenance tools and skills. Work from blueprints, sketches, written and verbal instructions. p Primary Responsibilities Uses programming software to troubleshoot issues on PLCs, Robots, HMIs, using RSLogix 500/5000, Fanuc Robotics teach pendant, etc. Makes updates and changes to plant documentation using AutoCAD Mechanical / Electrical Performs troubleshooting work on energized lines, circuits and connections with a wide range of voltages including 110V, 220V and 440V. May work with voltages up to 12,500V at distribution transformers. Operates a wide variety of equipment such as multi-meters, voltmeters, o-scopes, other electrical diagnostic equipment, carts, ladders, lifts, etc. Calibrates sensors, SCRs, and other equipment Design, build and implement test equipment to support production and engineering operations Provides cross-training for team members Member of a work team that utilizes business skills such as writing and entering work orders, interfacing with plant engineering team, time distribution, creates quotes and estimates, use of computers in performance of duties, etc. Works independently, coordinates PMs/rebuilds/shutdowns, may assign tasks to other team members as required Ability to problem-solve sensitive electro-mechanical issues and train others in maintenance techniques Demonstrated ability to document processes; prepare maintenance projects and layouts, interface with customers, vendors and suppliers, responsible for the quality of work, timeliness, work methods, practices, etc. <p> Required Qualifications GED or High School Diploma 2 year Electrical Technician / Electrician degree preferred General understanding of electrical theory and best practices, able to troubleshoot PLCs May need to lift up to 50 lbs. and work overhead to perform certain tasks Repairs machinery including troubleshooting live circuitry Able to work in Hot Environment
