Overview

Travel : Occasional travel required.

Scope of Responsibilities: Works under general supervision. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals.

Job Summary: Responsible for supervising, mentoring and managing work of the RFP Department staff, whose responsibilities include responding to request for proposal (RFP) questions, identifying financial needs of prospective or renewing clients, requesting and analyzing financial reports, performing underwriting analysis functions, and quantifying the impact of various pricing structures on pharmacy utilization and costs.

Responsibilities

Job Duties:

  • Manages all RFP responses and submission for prospective business opportunities.

  • Partner with cross functional teams to manage database of RFP responses.

  • Work closely with VP of Strategic Growth and Director of Finance to set the strategic direction related to sales, RFP and pricing strategies; develop and continually assess the value proposition of ProAct’s pharmacy benefit management program.

  • Develop and manage a proactive and organized sales process and pipeline, and tracks achievement against strategic objectives and business plan.

  • Facilitate development of the RFP Department’s financial models, such as the team’s baseline model, to ensure they reflect enhancements such as new industry pricing strategies, evolving internal corporate cost structures and a well-documented list of financial assumptions and qualifications.

  • Manage day-to-day tasks assigned to RFP Department staff, ensure that all deadlines are met and any changes or delays in timelines are clearly communicated.

  • Partner with marketing

  • Participate in development and implementation of initiatives to improve processes and procedures.

  • Lead and mentor staff to improve skill set and career potential.

  • Responsible for completing all mandatory and regulatory training programs.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Educational Requirements:

  • Minimum: AS Degree

  • Preferred: BS Degree in Communication, Marketing or related field

Experience Preferred:

  • Preferred: Previous 3 years in health benefits related field or

Special Conditions of Employment:

  • Criminal background check and/or drug test

  • Initial and continuous exclusion and sanction/disciplinary monitoring

Required Training:

  • HIPPA Privacy & Security Course

  • Fraud, Waste, and Abuse Course

Job Skills Required:

  • Strong writing, inter-personal and communication skills

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with internally and externally in person, on the phone and through email

  • Experience in the healthcare/PBM sector

  • Research skills, must be able to use all available resources to answer questions

  • Strong skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Adobe

  • Must be able to work independently
