Job Description

The Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials within the facility and performs any combination of tasks associated with the receipt and allocation of raw materials and supplies as well as the shipment of finished goods. The Material Handler will be trained and certified to Drive Mobile Equipment and to perform manual tasks associated with Pallet Breaks. Employees are generally assigned to the Raw Material & Finished Goods area or the Pallet Break area.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
Education sufficient to read, write and follow work instructions (in English) preferable to a High School Diploma or equivalency.
Must hold and maintain a valid driver's license.
Must be able to pass a FLT driver's test.
Must possess keen attention to detail.
Essential Functions - Raw Material & Finished Goods Allocations
Follow and actively support all EHS guidelines.
General Housekeeping & 5S
o Maintains all housekeeping standards to ensure care and maintenance of mobile equipment.
o Maintains an organized, clean & high performance work area.
o Ensures that Warehouse is organized and free of clutter/debris.
Perform receiving procedures, unloads commercial vehicles, and inspects Raw Material and supplies and transports to appropriate area.
Unload & stage Hazardous materials (inks, solvents) within authorized area.
Remove packaging such as end boards, plastic cores & U channels and shrink wrap as necessary with approved cutting tools.
Ensure safe and timely production support to Press, Slitting, Packing, Maintenance and Shipping/Receiving departments.
Deliver Raw Material Rolls (film) to the Press Department.
Perform call-out procedures and stage finished goods segregating by customer's geographic location.
Load LTL & TL vehicles and performs appropriate shipping procedures.
Perform daily checklist and routine maintenance such as battery rotation and replenishment on mobile equipment.
Perform inventory count and control procedures.
Participate and/or Lead in WCOM Continuous Improvement Teams as required.
Work Environment:
The performance of this position requires exposure to the warehouse and manufacturing floor, in a climate-controlled facility, with exposure to moving mobile equipment. The use of personal protective equipment, such as hearing protection, safety shoes, high visibility vests, cut-resistant gloves, and safety glasses may be required.
