  • Responsible to provide routine daily resident care services in accordance with the resident assessment and care plan and as may be directed by supervisors, assist in the maintenance of the environment, assist any resident who is in need and confers with either the Unit Manager or Nurse In Charge regarding any problems.

  • Delegation of Authority

As Certified Nursing Assistant you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility and accountability for carrying out your assigned duties. Supervision as follows:

  • Received: Direct from RN Charge Nurse/Unit Manager/Shift Manager/Shift Supervisor

  • Indirect from Assistant Director of Nursing and Director of Nursing

Job Function

Participate in and receive report regarding status of assigned residents at beginning of shift2. Provides direct resident care in accordance with the plan of care while ensuring resident’s privacy and dignity are preserved. 3. Resident Rights o Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information including health information; report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure of such information. o Ensure that you treat all residents fairly and with kindness, dignity and respec to Ensure that all nursing care is provided in privacy o Knock before entering the resident room o Report all grievances and complaints made by the resident to the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse4. Perform all job duties according to the highest standards and goals established for this job position. Exhibit the highest level of customer service towards residents, staff and visitors.


  • Must be listed as current in the New York State Nurse Aide Registry

  • Must attend 12 hours of in-service annually

  • Willing to function under the direction of the RN Charge Nurse, Unit Manager Assistant Director of Nursing and Director of Nursing

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language

  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served

Physical Requirements

  • In good physical health

  • Functions independently throughout the work day

  • May push, pull, move supplies on carts weighing up to 150 pounds as required
