Army Installation Management Command Assistant Aquatic Program Manager NF-03 in Fort Drum, New York

Summary

This position is within the Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) at Fort Drum, Northern New York. FMWR encompasses responsibility for Child and Youth Services, Community Recreation, Business Operations and Support Services. These programs and services enable Soldier readiness, and support the resiliency and well-being of Soldiers and Families.

Responsibilities

Serves as the Assistant Aquatics Program Manager responsible for the daily operation and supervision of aquatic fitness, training and recreational programs, personnel, and classes at aquatic facilities.

Assists manager in plans and coordination of details for reoccurring and nonrecurring aquatic, fitness, instructional, and joint community programs.

Assists aquatic manager with coordination with the MWR marketing department to publicize

aquatic events.

Assists with execution of the Installation Aquatic Risk Management Plan.

Qualifications

All candidates MUST meet ONE of the following minimum qualifications: One year of work experience in planning and executing indoor and/or outdoor aquatic programs or facilities OR Six (6) months of work experience in planning and executing indoor and/or outdoor aquatic programs or facilities AND Possess an undergraduate or graduate degree in physical education or kinesiology and possess at least six (6) months of work experience in planning and executing indoor and/or outdoor aquatic programs or facilities In addition to one of the above you MUST also meet ALL of minimum qualifications below A current lifeguard certification AND A current First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer or equivalent certification AND A current Lifeguarding Instructor and Water Safety Instructor certification AND Willing to obtain Aquatic Facilities Operator (AFP) or Certified Pool Operator (CPO) Certification within six (6) months of employment (Management supported) HIGHLY PREFERRED are those candidates that possess both the minimum qualifications above and: Equipment (Safe Operation and Basic Maintenance Repair) Nationally Recognized Basic Fitness Trainer Certification MWR Sports and Fitness Administration Course. This position is located within Community Recreation Division. The AREA OF CONSIDERATION for this vacancy announcement is for U.S. Citizens and Non-Citizens within the Local Commuting Area of Fort Drum, NY. The local commuting area covers a radius of 100 Miles from Fort Drum, New York. (Spouse Employment Preference (SEP), who are moving to the area in the next 30 days, and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration.) Salary depends on actual hours worked. Hourly rate for leave and pay will be $16.77 to $23.96 per hour. Management reserves the right to reassign employees to other facilities.
