Interprets quality policies and regulations in place or flowed down from customers as it relates to the materials and services procured from the suppliers.
Performs professional technical assignments requiring the full use and wide application of established Quality Engineering principles, theories and concepts.
Evaluate and improve supplier quality performance by managing supplier quality system, working with suppliers to identify opportunities for improvement.
Manages the Supplier Corrective Action process.
Responsible for issuing, tracking and reviewing all supplier corrective actions as a result of a NCR or defect. Helps identify and assess what the root cause maybe and participates as required.
Directs the development of the Supplier Quality Assurance Program. Determines and clarifies interpretations of contractual Quality requirements of the suppliers and works with the programs Quality Engineers to ensure proper quality flow-downs are used.
Represents Supply Chain and Suppliers during design and requirements reviews and Configuration Control Board activities.
Analyzes each supplier PO for Quality Clause flow-down accuracy.
Evaluates the capability of major subcontractors and suppliers, and works, in conjunction with Program, Engineering, Procurement and Subcontract personnel to maintain continuity in the delivery of products that meet Engineering and Production needs in time phase plan.
Establishes effective interface with customers and their representatives. Participates in Customer reviews of supplier quality concerns, discussions and presentations. Demonstrates capability to meet customer needs and assures customer that Quality interests are maintained.
Manage quality, SCARs and Surveys for Key Suppliers
Other Responsibilites and Duties
Provide QE support as needed for supplier scorecard DPPM & responsiveness ratings
Establish rapport with Supply Chain for suppliers with DPPM issues
Use internal SCAR system or supplier mentoring to improve DPPM for low scoring key suppliers
Conducts quality assessments and surveys with suppliers both on site and remote.
Conducts internal audits in all areas of Manufacturing and Test.
Assists Quality Engineers, Inspection, Calibration and Quality Manager.
Reviews in-house acceptance test procedures for accuracy and completeness.
Evaluates supplier route cards, process sheets and establishes numerous inspection requirements by evaluating and monitoring process capabilities.
Reviews and approves supplier’s acceptance and qualification test plans and procedures. Assists with supplier evaluation and selection.
Performs source inspections and acceptance.
15% Travel as needed within the U.S. and internationally
•Bachelor's Degree with Quality Management courses
•OR two (2) + years’ experience in Quality Assurance with emphasis in Supplier Quality Assurance
•This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a “US Person” under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license)
•Quality Auditing background highly preferred
•Previous Supplier interaction a plus!
•Discrepancy resolution skills
•Ability to build excellent relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring “cross-pollination” of insights and experiences
•Ability to ensure effective design discussions occur at all levels
•Strong written and verbal communication skills, employing diplomacy, confidence and tact; assertive without antagonism or alienation
•Critical thinking knowledge to identify and investigate potential risk areas, conduct root cause analyses, and work with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues
•Demonstrated ability to analyze data, create reports, and present findings to panels, groups, teams, or departments as required
