Summary:

Applications are invited for a position in the Social Work Division as MSW Field Director. The MSW Field Director will serve the needs of the Social Work Division by planning, organizing, and directing the day-to-day operational activities of the Field Office of the MSW program in coordination with the MSW Program Director and Division Chair. We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with clinical experience and expertise, who has exceptional organization skills, with the ability to tolerate ambiguity and manage multiple responsibilities. Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight and coordination of all graduate field placements and site visits for the MSW program.

  • Develop new agency agreements for field placement opportunities.

  • Maintain ongoing relationships with agency field instructors.

  • Provide clinical supervision for students placed in the Keuka College counseling center.

  • Coordinate and collaborate work with the BSW Program Director and any future field staff regarding activities that benefit the Division-wide field office, such as new practicum site development, training of field instructors and field liaisons, placing of students in field practicum sites, coordinating and facilitating field instructor orientations, Field manual revisions, field forms, etc.

  • This position will also assist the BSW Program by placing the BSW campus-based students, conducting site visits, working as the liaison with the student and Field Instructor, collecting all paperwork, handling any site issues, and working with the professor teaching the Senior Seminar.

  • Write, review, and revise field policies that directly impact students in practicum and ensure they remain current with CSWE standards and related regulations and policies.

  • Assist the MSW Program Director and Division Chair in writing the CSWE accreditation documents—specifically, portions directly related to the field.

  • Provide support via Zoom, Teams, telephone, and e-mail regarding concerns, questions regarding the MSW field placement and options, etc.

  • Serve as a liaison for student and instructor concerns about student development.

  • Ensure that the Agency Agreements are signed by all parties prior to the start of Field Practicum for MSW students.

  • Responsible for the evaluation of the MSW field through coordinating the collection of and analyzing all Final Evaluations, Foundation Observations, and Advanced Clinical Observations, to generate a Report for specific cohorts and curriculum (MSW Foundation or Advanced), which would be distributed to the Program Director and the Division Chair.

  • Resolve issues and problems that may arise with faculty, staff, and students in a timely fashion in ways consistent with College policy and practice.

  • Participate in curriculum development, in particular, provide expertise and constructive criticism in curriculum development and revision for courses that have field practicum requirements.

  • Participate in meetings, including, but not limited to MSW Program meetings, Social Work Division Meetings, Social Work Division Field Meetings, other campus committee meetings as indicated or by request of the Division Chair.

  • Responsible for ensuring that assigned tasks are completed in compliance with various institutional and regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain a professional and courteous attitude at all times towards co-workers, internal and external customers, representing Keuka College, its programs, policies, and procedures in a positive and professional manner. Maintain effective working relationships to ensure institution-wide teamwork.

  • Attend provided/necessary training and other meetings to support effectiveness within the position as required.

  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Social Work Division, administration, and staff to ensure program quality and accreditation.

  • Support Student Success initiatives.

  • Participate in Social Work Division and program meetings, as well as any related activities.

  • Meet other program needs as directed by the Division Chair and Program Director.

  • Contribute to the College and community through participation in institution functions, community activities, and committee service.

  • Demonstrate continuing professional and educational growth and maintain expertise in areas of responsibility.

  • Consistently demonstrate high standards of integrity by supporting the Keuka College mission, vision, and values and adhering to institutional policies.

  • Maintain a high regard for student privacy in accordance with the FERPA privacy policies and procedures.

  • Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required.

  • Perform other functions as assigned by the Division Chair.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a clinical MSW degree with three years’ post-MSW direct clinical practice experience culminating in an LCSW or LCSW-R designation.

  • Be in good standing with the NYS Office of Professions Licensing Board and maintain current licensure.

  • Clinical expertise and experience in one of the following areas: mental health, substance use, and/or trauma treatment.

  • Ability to manage workflow and strategically influence others and/or build consensus within a decentralized or virtual team structure.

  • Strong project management experience in a rapidly evolving and growing organization.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies within a diverse educational community.

  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.

  • Computer experience with Microsoft Office, Powerpoint, Excel, Google docs, and Airtable.

  • Excellent planning, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure with a high tolerance for interruptions.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.

  • Understand and behave with a high level of integrity and complete confidentiality at all times.

  • Ability to be sensitive and respond to the needs/concerns of students, faculty, college staff, and the public.

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional lifting of boxes, supplies, etc., generally less than 30lbs.

  • Some evening and weekend hours required
