Summary of Role:


GlobalFoundries Fab 8 is seeking experienced professionals to support the state of the art 300mm semiconductor manufacturing and development in Malta, New York. The core responsibilities of this team involve ownership of process integration of semiconductor devices; monitoring performance and driving improvements related to technology yield, Cp/Cpk of inline and electrical parameters, defectivity, and more. The team is also responsible for the development of new and emerging technologies through definition/execution of experiments and technical data analysis. The ideal candidate can demonstrate a technical understanding of semiconductor principles and an understanding of a balanced scorecard approach to develop, sustain, and improve semiconductor technologies with quality, cost, and delivery all considered.


+ Optimizes and develops ESD device and processes to lead to device characterization.


+ Typically performs one or more of the following in capacity of an individual contributor (as directed and/or independently):


+ Performs specialized design and develops ESD devices, understands the process integration that leads to device characterization


+ Optimize devices by understanding the semiconductor device physics, and device manufacturing process associated .


+ Conduct various analytical and physics based models and or process integration methods


+ ESD Device Engineering


+ Enables new features with efficiency for new technologies, features, or device introduction


+ Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs


+ Work and collaboration other projects and/or assignments as needed


Essential Responsibilities Include:


+ Shows mastery of a technical discipline and is recognized within the company as a senior member of a technical team.


+ Initiative and creativity result in high degree of innovation while showing the capacity to solve major problems of an advanced complexity within his/her area of expertise.


+ Solves complex, novel and non-recurring problems.


+ Contributing inventor on a few patents.


+ Contributing author on conference or journal publications.


+ Accountability Works on and leads medium to large projects and assignments.


+ Coaches and mentors less experienced staff, influences others as a technical leader.


+ Regularly provides specialized technical guidance to others in work area.


+ Participates in and/or leads cross-functional teams across sites.


+ Relationship Focus Limited and supervised contact at engineering and logistical level.


+ Serves as a member of the conference committees.


+ Actively participates in external programs.


+ Initiates projects with suppliers.


+ Attends and participates in consortia technical reviews.

Required Qualifications:

+ Requires a technical (University) degree. (Exceptions approved by local HR).


Preferred Qualifications:


+ Increased knowledge plus broader technical knowledge that facilitates more integrative thinking.


+ BS + 6-7 years of experience or


+ MS + 5-6 years
