The Facilities Services team manages the design, construction, and property management of all facilities within the Northwell Health real estate portfolio. The AVP of Capital Projects directs, plans, organizes and evaluates the design and construction of high profile and complex organization facilities projects involving multiple facilities. Directs the performance of capital projects from inception to implementation within approved schedule and budget. Develops system-wide projects which encompass the entire range of facility development.
Job Responsibility
Leads the Capital Projects function by developing leaders and driving programs and initiatives that support and impact the overall Northwell health system goals.
Develops and articulates a long-term strategic vision for areas of responsibility.
Directs and assists the entitlement, design, and feasibility of development projects; including planning, financial analysis, capital structure, consultant team creation and strategic partnership oversight; monitors the flow of information regarding project design around stakeholders, market research personnel, construction groups and design team members.
Directs planning, design and construction management teams to ensure strategic vision for each initiative; partners with the leadership and clinical leadership to align the strategic plan for facility development with clinical user needs; promotes quality and productivity improvements through involvement in the development of improved procedures, process innovations and changes which support the strategic direction.
Negotiates contracts, scoping deliverables, and writing statements of work (SOWs); establishes and standardizes financial management systems to support financial reporting requirements for capital projects.
Oversees project schedules and budgets ensuring coordination between planning, design, financing and marketing; direct and assists outside legal, finance, design, environmental, and construction consultants; partners with senior leadership to ensure efficient allocation and resource planning throughout the organization; plans, directs and supports hardware, operating systems, networks and data communication technologies; participates in business development projects that include business acquisitions and facility enhancements.
Reviews and directs the planning, design, implementation and support of corporate wide information systems, networks and departmental applications for capital projects.
Ensures compliance with federal, state and local rules, regulations and laws and Joint Commission standards; interprets and standardizes all fiscal and regulatory reporting standards to ensure compliance with government and regulatory reporting and third-party agencies.
Directs the implementation of Human Resources plans to achieve strategic goals and objectives including organizational development, recruiting, compensation, training and development, and employee engagement and relations.
Consult with organization leadership with repositioning strategies of existing properties and creation, design and implementation of new developments; directs the management and development of professional contacts and community support through identifying and developing new business initiatives and opportunities.
Evaluates and directs the assessment of services and development of new programs and research projects that support strategic operational goals.

Job Qualification
Master's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
10-12 years of relevant experience and 7+ years of leadership / management experience, required.
Experience in construction management and/or construction administration, construction contract negotiation, building codes and compliance, as well as project management experience, preferred.

The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.When determining a team member's base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).
The salary range for this position is $152,000-$266,000/year
