Position Summary:

Schedules and prints orders for the 3D Lab to ensure products and services meet timely deadlines and that the customer’s requirements are also met.A highly detailed, organized and communicative individual with an exceptional attention to detail and strong 3D modelling and physical model making skills who enjoys interacting with designers and staff to create, produce, manage and finish high quality 3D printed objects. Developing estimates, print pre-flighting and set-up, printer operation & maintenance, and post processing. Operating various output devices and appropriate software within network/cloud environment to produce quality output that meets customer requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following and other duties may be assigned

• Plans, schedules, and directs production operations. Co-ordinates work between branches; arranges work with outside vendors as needed. Assigns work to printers; interprets job orders; inspects orders to verify conformance to requirements.• Provides support to Account Executives; performs demonstrations; educates customers on services, fixes files; interacts with customers to resolve production problems; provides estimates.• Responsible for maintenance and upkeep of all lab equipment. Participates in the evaluation and recommendation of technology, software, equipment & materials. Participates in the planning, development and implementation of strategies to improve performance and maintain an industry leadership position.

• Recommends measures to improve throughput, equipment performance, and quality of output; initiates and suggests changes to increase efficiency of department and associates.• Checks & submits billing on a timely basis.• Maintain properly stocked inventory by issuing POs & ordering materials as needed; estimates, requisitions, and inspects incoming materials; analyzes material costs and monitors material waste.

• Responsible for opening an/or closing of department includes opening, closing, locking, securing, starting, activating, deactivating, disabling and/or initializing of work area(s) and corresponding equipment.• Performs activities of associates supervised (see below); works variable hours, extra hours including weekends and holidays as required to meet customer requirements.

Education and/or Experience: BA preferred, minimum Associate’s degree; or two-four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in 3D production / model making environment. Experience with multiple 3D modelling software systems preferred. Must be flexible to training for new skillsets and skillset enhancements and be able to work in a fast paced, tight deadline high pressure environment with the ability to multi-task.

Communications Skills: Must have ability to engage and interact with clients to determine their digital, design and technology needs. Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Must have the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Computer Skills: Must have advanced computer proficiency specifically within 3D modelling software packages that may include Magics, GrabCAD, ObJet Studio, 3DPrint, Solidworks, Z-Brush, etc.

Reasoning Ability: Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must have the ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Managerial/Supervisor Responsibilities: Responsible for ensuring appropriate policies and procedures are followed with regard to hiring, firing, discipline, performance evaluations, etc. Ensures appropriate paperwork and documentation are submitted timely to HR with regard to the aforementioned areas.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock from computer usage. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Job requires regular, onsite attendance at the designated work location/branch per the assigned hours and work schedule.

Equipment Used: PC w/ Magics, ObJet Studio, 3DPrint, Solidworks, Z-Brush, Solidworks, etc.; Fused Deposition Modeling, PolyJet and Powder printers (i.e., Dimension 1200es, ProJet 860, Connex 360); Universal Laser Cutting device; Water / wash stations and various epoxies; model making tools such blades, files, clamps, etc.
