Basic skill in operation of power plant equipment, boilers, chillers, pumps, steam, hot water systems, compressed air, controls, medical gases, alarms, lighting, and emergency power systems, plant maintenance methods, techniques, procedures, repair, and use of department equipment and supplies.
A high School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.), plus specialized or vocational courses.
Must be able to troubleshoot and repair all types of air conditioning systems including but not limited to; Package Units, Split Systems, Window A/C’s, Fan Coil Systems, Air Handling Systems, P-Tac Units, etc.
Required NYC Certificates of Fitness: Q-99/Q-01, S-95
Additional NYC Certificates of Fitness that must be obtained within 6-months: S-12, S-13, P-98, A-35, G-71
Five to seven years’ experience as an Engineer, preferably in a Hospital or School environment
