Key investment risk representative for JP Morgan Alternative Asset Management, which manages $15Bn in multi-manager hedge fund & private credit portfolios, with offices in New York, London, Geneva and Singapore.
We are seeking an analyst/associate to strengthen our investment risk and quantitative analysis team. The analyst will work closely with senior members of the team to engineer new and scalable quantitative methods to analyze the risk profile and investment performance of hedge fund strategies. While the candidates' focus within our group will partly be a function of the candidates' key strengths and background, the emphasis will be on developing risk analytics and tools used to manage portfolios. The role offers the opportunity to innovate and problem solve while combining investment acumen with a creative and technical skillset. A successful candidate will have the opportunity to both design and implement solutions. The role will straddle the line between engineering technology solutions and investment analysis with limitations only a function of the candidates' ability. In addition, the candidate is expected to contribute to a wide variety of projects aimed at ensuring our investment and risk management practices, knowledge, and systems remain cutting edge.
Potential candidates should possess a combination of the following:
One to three years of experience in the financial industry (investment management, fintech, hedge fund allocator, market/data analytics, multi-strategy hedge fund) with superior analytical skills and experience processing large sets of information and data.
Excel skills are a must, Python & Tableau experience is highly preferred. Database knowledge (SQL) is a plus.
A degree in Computational Finance, Financial Engineering or Quantitative Risk
A basic understanding of financial markets - derivatives experience a plus
A strong command of statistical concepts and applied experience is necessary, but not sufficient for success
Strong verbal and written communication skills
