Citigroup Regulatory Response Management Lead in New York, New York
The Regulatory Response Management Lead will be part of Citi’s Global Regulatory Response Management and Oversight team and report directly to the Global Head of Regulatory Response Management and Oversight.
Citi’s Global Regulatory Response Management and Oversight team is part of Citi’s Global Regulatory Engagement team, which is responsible for the regulatory engagement strategy and execution, key regulatory submissions and responses, regulatory exam management and oversight, and regulatory strategy and policy across all of Citi’s regulators.
The Regulatory Response Management Lead be responsible for leading and overseeing the partnership between Regulatory Engagement Team and key stakeholders for implementation of Response Management practices and adoption of Regulatory Response standards. They are also responsible for advising and guiding the business response owners on the regulatory standards and governance to support submissions.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop an advisory operating model and associated engagement model
Implement, operate, and evolve the defined interaction and engagement model as determined by the Regulatory Response Governance and Standards
Serve as the bidirectional primary liaison between the Global Regulatory Response Management and Oversight Team and key stakeholders for implementation of response management practices and standards
Lead Regulatory Response Management Team’s communication efforts with and serve as ‘voice of customer’ and capture critical feedback from key internal and external stakeholders to ensure perspectives are incorporated into design of response management practices
Support implementation of response management standards through regular stakeholder coaching (e.g., sharing best practices, educating on consistent approaches) and cadence of interactions
Provide Advisory support to the business, regions, and functions to create their part in the regulatory response – narratives, quarterly progress reports etc.
Provide transparency and communicate near term and longer-term approaches to key stakeholders for Response Management capability implementation based on availability and maturity of target state capabilities, tools, architecture, etc.
Ensure regulatory responses and remediation programs have a clear articulation of risk reduction and control enhancement impact
Provide credible challenge of the written responses from a quality and completeness perspective
Responsible to look across functions from a regulatory response perspective; identify themes, patterns, common issues and ensure consistency in how Citi’s responding across the businesses, etc
Provide input into CEO / Board / EMT reporting
Play integrative role for selected projects and remediation efforts that involve multiple functions, and/or impact multiple key stakeholder groups
Own the relationship and interactions with the Transformation Office (e.g., metrics, dashboard reporting, change management, etc.)
Qualifications
Substantial experience in regulatory policy, regulatory supervision or regulatory relations or in a role requiring deep regulatory understanding
Significant experience in managing complex cross-company efforts – specific experience with managing major regulatory or legal submissions
Specific subject matter expertise regarding regulatory disciplines and a strong business understanding of financial services
Broad understanding of relevant banking regulation and supervisory expectations for complex global financial institutions
Track record of managing senior client or regulatory relationships and regulatory remediation programs at peer institution
Well-developed listening skills and a strong ability to engage at the executive management level by providing proactive support and advice on a variety of regulatory matters
Superior oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills for interfacing with all levels within the organization including senior management, including effective influencing skills, a proactive and 'no surprises' approach in communicating issues/requests
Strong leadership skills with a proven track record in driving positive and sustained change
