A Technician A position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Catherine Clelland, at Columbia University Medical Center in the Department of Pathology (Taub Institute).
- The successful candidate for this position will help to investigate the molecular mechanisms of cognitive deficits in Alzheimer's disease, and will then target these molecular pathways to treat the disease, using human samples and a number of mouse models. The position is available immediately.
Requires two years of college or a completed Associate's degree with an emphasis on Chemistry, biology, physics, or related science or equivalent in education, training, and experience.
The successful applicant should have experience in the use of and handling of genetic mouse models for study of the CNS, including directly working with animals and dissection.
Laboratory experience in molecular biological techniques such as PCR and DNA sequencing is also desirable.
Experience working under RNAase free conditions and experience measuring· gene expression (via quantitative RT-PCR) would also be a plus, although training can be provided.
