Position Summary
Columbia University Irving Medical Center’s Department of Pediatrics is seeking a VHO to join its Research Administration team. The Department of Pediatrics is committed to innovation and excellence in clinical medicine, education, research, community health and global health. Responsibilities
Reporting to the Senior Director of Research Administration, the VHO Research Administrator’s main function will be to prepare and complete all tasks related to Department-Billed project invoicing.
Collaborate with the Director of Research Administration, the Pediatrics Research Administration team for Department-Billed project invoicing
Interact with Sponsored Projects Finance on the monthly billing report and sponsored project invoicing
Liaise with other departments/schools/universities to obtain or create required invoicing documentation
Establish invoicing for new awards and sub-projects, with correct budgets and documentation
Support Sr. Dir. Res, Admin, and Grants Administrators with tracking of invoice due dates
Support faculty and fellows with the development, review, submission and renewal of various types of sponsored projects from a variety of sponsors including NIH, private foundations, government, and industry
Maintain accurate and updated files of proposals and awards as applicable
Provide efficient and effective post-award accounting reconciliation to faculty and administrators
Comply with rules & regulations of the University, sponsors, agreement terms, etc. in all areas of expenditures, effort, transactions, equipment, etc.
Other related duties assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience required plus 4 years of related experience.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in work experience (1.5 experience = 1 year of education)
CRA certification desirable (Preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
4 years of progressively responsible pre-award and grants management experience
Experience with managing federal and private grants and clinical trials and in an academic healthcare environment preferred
