Description

The Estée Lauder Companies adopted an ambitious GCCS strategy aiming to fully integrate sustainability into company functions and drive top line growth. The GCCS team is responsible for overseeing and executing this strategy which includes overseeing sustainability issues such as stakeholder engagement, non-financial reporting, brand engagement, operations: energy & emissions and social investments. The team also facilitates and supports the execution of sustainability goals implemented by other departments/functions.

The company seeks a Manager, Sustainability, supporting the execution of the climate and energy strategy including delivering against the company’s goals across Net Zero, RE100 and Science-Based Targets. The Manager will play a key role in implementing the company’s data management efforts and value chain carbon footprint, manage company-wide projects on specific issue areas, and help facilitate sustainability goals executed by other departments/functions.

Key Activities

  • Manage and execute climate and energy strategy and goals including carbon neutrality, renewable energy, energy efficiency, supply chain, Net Zero, RE100 and Science-Based Targets

  • Work in close collaboration with key internal business leads, including GCCS colleagues across Sustainability and corporate functions across ELC to execute strategy

  • Manage climate and energy data management including data aggregation, consolidation, cleaning, validation, and analytics

  • Support GHG inventory and carbon accounting including subject matter expertise in emission factors, proxy data for GHG emissions and energy systems analysis

  • Benchmark, synthesize, and communicate internally trends and insights from external sources

  • Support gathering data for the company sustainability reporting process (GRI) and investor and customer surveys

  • Oversee project management, and track and report progress on work plans and budget

  • Develop goals, objectives and targets for driving more sustainable facilities

Qualifications

  • Excellent understanding of carbon accounting including standards and applications including the GHG Protocol, Carbon Disclosure Project, Scope 3 accounting and LCA

  • Experience with data management platforms and applications related to sustainability such as advanced Excel, Power BI and Sphera

  • Additional subject matter expertise across ELC focus areas a plus, including energy efficnecy, renewable energy, sustainability management, reporting and transparency and/or supply chain

  • Experience working in a multi-branded retail company or other industry with high-profile consumer brands a plus

  • Experience managing multiple, disparate projects simultaneously

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills for high-level interaction with other functions and brands

  • Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills, including communicating and marketing sustainability efforts

  • Capacity to work and thrive in a growing, fast-paced entrepreneurial organization within a collaborative environment

  • Highly analytical, can synthesize information and offer recommendations/solutions

  • Fluent in both written and conversational English; fluency in a second language an advantage

  • High ethical standards and commitment to core values of leadership, respect, and integrity
