Maco Bag Corporation Maintenance - Engineering Manager in Newark, New York
Maco Bag has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Engineering Manager to work Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm.
Oversee the development and implementation of all maintenance and process engineering processes and procedures in a packaging, co-packaging manufacturing facility.
Summary of Essential Job Duties:
Lead and direct the work of assigned maintenance technicians and process engineers.
Analyze and design lean effective systems, processes, and procedures to optimize use of space, equipment, material and personnel.
Assist in developing plant layout, configure process/production equipment locations.
Assist in the assessment of vendor/subcontractor evaluations.
Negotiate with vendors and suppliers for equipment acquisitions.
Work closely with quality engineering, Production, Buildings & Grounds, and other cross functional teams.
Support all current and new product introductions.
Manage special projects in equipment development, installation, and maintenance.
Ensure all manufacturing product specifications are developed and testing procedures completed.
Develop maintenance organization, enhance scope of skill sets.
Develop and manage the Preventive Maintenance Program.
Works within established budget for department. Reviews monthly financial data for deviations from budget. Continuously evaluate, research and provide recommendations for cost reduction opportunities and increased efficiency.
Ensures compliance to established policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Competencies:
Fully understand specifications, manufacturing processes and procedures.
Knowledge of packaging, co-packaging manufacturing technologies and equipment.
Knowledge of flexible packaging.
Experience in tool design and modifications.
Ability to read blueprints and working diagrams.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Good time management skills, manage multiple priorities.
Business knowledge and negotiating ability.
Project management including operating within a budget, scheduling, organizing, coordinating and delegating.
Must be customer service oriented, inquisitive, resourceful, self-confident and flexible.
Able to professionally interact with all levels of employees within the company.
Able to negotiate and /or persuade internal and external entities for desired outcome.
Ability to effectively teach, mentor and manage employees.
Intermediate computer skills required including being knowledgeable in Microsoft Office suite to produce necessary reports/documents.

Experience with Turbo CAD a plus.
Educational/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent education and experience.
Five (5) years progressive experience in manufacturing processing engineering.
Five (5) years experience leading maintenance organization in a packaging, co-packaging manufacturing environment.
Experience with ISO Standards preferred.
