Eaton Corporation Shipper/Receiver (2nd Shift) in Olean, New York

Eaton’s Electrical division is currently seeking a Shipper/Receiver to join our team. This position is based at our Olean, NY facility.

Position Overview:

The Shipper/Receiver utilizes knowledge, skills, and abilities to receive, store, distribute, and ship materials and finished goods within the warehouse, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all job functions. Maintains perpetual inventory of parts, raw materials, subassemblies, shipments, and finished goods. This position will also rotate in to the Wood Shop, UPS and use the MOV Truck. Maintains standards of quality, production, and safety; complies with all company policies and works as part of a team to ensure that daily goals are met.

In this function you will:

  • Be responsible for following all safety policies and procedures, complying with JSA’s, wearing proper PPE, complying with the production attire policy, and assuring that the department has safe equipment and no risk is placed on their coworkers or themselves.

  • Operate all mechanical equipment, including MOV truck, fork lift, pallet jack, and handtrucks safely. Takes responsibility for the safety of pedestrians in the plant and warehouse areas.

  • Maintain training and participate in assigned job rotation throughout the department: Shipping, Receiving, Inventory Cycle Counting, Wood Shop, MOV Truck and UPS.

  • Verify accuracy of incoming and outbound shipments by counting, weighing, or measuring items and comparing size, weight, description, and code numbers with information on invoice or packing slip and purchase orders; record any discrepancies or damage; signs for incoming fright

  • Conduct Inventory cycle counts in the Assembly warehouse, MOV and shop floor & participate in root cause analysis to determine inventory error and action plan.

  • Maintain computerized inventory records, take physical count periodically, and check against inventory control totals using computer; utilizes SAP software to move inventory and keep records of shipped and received inventory and finished goods.

  • Maintain quality standards consistent with the Eaton’s Cooper Power Systems Quality Policy. Visually inspects incoming and outgoing inventory and finished goods. Notifies the supervisor/manager of all problems with product or quality. Takes ownership of the recognition and communication of quality issues.

    Safety:

  • Any safety issue identified should be reported immediately to supervisor or manager.

  • General cleaning of shop areas and personal 5S/industrial housekeeping responsibility.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area of Olean, NY will be considered

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

Position Success Criteria:

  • Ability to operate power industrial truck/equipment in a proficient and safe manner.

  • Ability to use a computer, navigates screens, and input data in SAP program efficiently.

  • Ability to read and write, simple math skills including adding and subtracting whole numbers and fractions.

  • Ability to communicate problems in product or quality in to supervisor or manager clearly and concisely.
