Oswego Hospital Office Assistant BHS in Oswego, New York

Responsible to obtain accurate and complete patient data, providing baseline information to hospital units, physicians, A/R, Medical Records, and ensure that patients are billed promptly and accurately. Complies with requirements established by regulating agencies and Third Party payers with respect to admission and discharge practices. Authorization entry and management. Compliance to departmental and organizational policy and procedure. Completes projects as directed by the department manager. Obtains patient payments at the time of service. Ability to use the scheduling system to schedule follow-up appointments for patients.

High school diploma or GED required. Clerical and computer knowledge required. Prefer at least one year experience in a medical office setting.Knowledge of medical terminology and/or 3rd party insurance process preferred. PC/CRT data entry and strong customer service skills.
