EJ Maintenance Mechanic in Phoenix, New York

EJ has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Mechanic on our first shift (Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 PM), salary - $25.64 - $27.64 per hour depending on experience. Location: Phoenix, NY ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Promotes the culture, the mission and vision, and the core values of the company. This includes adherence to and promotion of the company safety beliefs, employee engagement, competencies, code of conduct, and other policies and procedures. * Respond immediately to production request. Assess equipment, perform adjustments, repair/replace as needed. * Optimize and/or repair equipment. * Uses power and/or hand tools per work instruction database and associated information systems. * May drive industrial equipment to move materials. * Uses computer to obtain and/or input information. * May be assigned to jobs in other departments. * May aid in training of others. * Provides suggestion for improvement of all of our systems. * Ability to troubleshoot equipment. * Reads and understands diagrams/prints. * Attends seminars, workshops and classes on maintenance related subjects and teach others. * Must meet physical demands as stated below. * May be required to work overtime on regular basis. * May be required to work holidays. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Good trouble shooting skills with VFD’s, PLC’s and other electronic components, pneumatic and hydraulic systems with applicable computer knowledge to support this type of work. Experience with motor starters, variable frequency drives and soft start motor drives. Thorough knowledge and experience in the areas of basic mechanics, hydraulics, control valves, pneumatics, schematic diagrams, maintenance, electrical components including solid state controls, motor power, control wiring and basic process control. Must be able to operate man lifts, scissor lifts, arial lifts and forklifts. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Fork Truck Driver’s License, Industrial vehicle/equipment license where applicable PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
