Facilities Technician - Monroe Veterinary Associates

Monroe Veterinary Associates has a full-time opportunity, Mon-Fri., to assist with maintenance of our various locations.

Essential Functions:

I.Completion of tasks as directed by Facility Supervisor or Facilities Supervisor Repair Support Assistant, including interior and exterior repairs; electrical troubleshooting, installations and repairs; and door, window and lock installations and repairs as needed at MVA facilities. Such tasks include painting, plumbing, electrical, drywall, installation of shelves, ceiling tile replacement, light bulb and filter changes, furniture and equipment moves, delivery of items as needed, and other minor repairs.

II.Tours sites to ensure appropriate maintenance of facility, including appearance of client areas, exterior of facility including landscaping, parking lot, cleaning gutters and to help identify potential problems in specific areas of responsibility including site maintenance, janitorial, physical plant and preventative maintenance.and reporting findings to supervisor or support assistant.
III.Assist in development of and adherence to maintenance guidelines regarding preventative maintenance practices (filter cleaning, vent cleaning, hair trap cleaning etc). Ensures building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life.

IV.Understands and follows practices that ensure the safety of employees and clients and the integrity of properties.

V.Prioritizes incoming repair calls from Supervisor or Support Assistant and communicates status of repairs to appropriate individuals on a timely basis.

VI.Works with Supervisor or Support Assistant to ensure quality of services provided by outside contractors, including landscaping, snow plowing, lawn care, floor care, extermination services, exterior window maintenance, driveway sealing and repair, tree removal and trimming, exterior signage placement, refuse disposal and recycling

VII.Assist with maintenance of facilities work area to ensure neat, orderly area.

Education:HS diploma or equivalent.

Requirements:Requires the ability to: work independently with minimal supervision; interact courteously and professionally with others; communicate effectively in timely manner. Clean, valid NYS Driver's license. Must provide own basic tools and use of own vehicle. Some knowledge of excel.

Physical Requirements:Some heavy lifting, (50 lbs.), climbing ladders and stepladders, reaching, bending, stooping.
