Job Description:

*Highland Hospital is seeking a Full Time APP to join its growing team. This newly created role will support Highland Hospitals Inpatient Nephrology group. Candidates would work Monday - Friday, Days in this role. Will work in a team environment to provide direct patient care on the inpatient Nephology Service.

Some duties include but are not limited to:

Assessment of patients with End Stage Renal Disease who need ongoing dialysis therapy. Writing dialysis orders, and coordination of care with other inpatient services.

Diagnosis and management of patients with acute kidney injury, electrolyte disorders and disorders of volume and blood pressure.

Evaluation and assistance with management of patients with Chronic Kidney disease in the hospital setting.

Management of critically ill patients on CVVH, when started at Highland Hospital.

Job Requirements:

  1. Education: Fulfilled the requirements to be a licensed PA or NP in NYS.

  2. Experience: Preferred , new grads welcome

  3. License/Certification Required: Registration in New York State as a Nurse Practitioner and national certification as an NP or a Physician Assistant with New York State license and national certification.

  4. Skills: Willing to work in an environment that is consistent with Highland/ICARE Values. Maintains adequate CME credits to ensure ongoing competency for performing job duties. Maintains current NYS license and NCCPA certification.
