Career Start is currently seeking a Production Supervisors in Rochester, NY. This is an exciting opportunity for someone in a leadership role who loves working the night shift! Shift Schedule is 6PM to 6 AM with rotating weekends!
To be considered for this Production Supervisor position, candidates must have one to three years of supervisory experience preferably in a manufacturing setting. As a Site Leader you will focus on People Management, Process Management and Client Management. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for all day-to-day operations that take place in a manufacturing environment.
The Production Supervisor will be responsible in overseeing a team ranging in headcount from 80-100 individuals. Your goal is to maintain clear processes to ensure we are delivering world class service to our Client and associates.
You will demonstrate analytical and problem solving skills in reviewing reports (such as attendance, attrition, fill-ratios, etc.) provide effective communication, planning, prioritizing, problem solving, and the ability to make changes in real time.
Responsibilities of the Production Supervisor:
Staff recruitment and scheduling for open shifts
Manage daily on-site operations such as headcount, check-ins of employees to ensure staff's availability during working hours
Monitor all company activities and ensure compliance with company procedures and policies
Coordinate with supervisors and management to plan activities for higher productivity on production site
Develop and maintain relationship with management and supervisors to resolve employee issues, concerns and grievances as per existing company policy
Walking the production area accessing the manager and employee needs
Develop ways to retain all employees through motivation and encouragement
Conduct new hire and safety orientations
Handle associate questions and concerns in a timely manner
Manage employee pool by hiring, retaining or terminating of same, evaluate performance and counsel employees to improve performance
Handle workers' comp injuries
Maintain weekly temporary payroll and employee personal files to facilitate effective personnel management
Maintain internal database daily with customer requests, counseling, absences, etc.
Conduct exit interviews and report findings as needed
Various duties as assigned
Requirements of the Production Supervisor:
One to three years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting highly desired
Must be able flexible
Must be computer proficient; Microsoft word, excel, outlook, etc.
Superb written and oral communication
