We're looking for a Senior GNSS Architect to join our team in either Rochester, NY, Montreal, Canada, or France!

Orolia is looking for such an individual, to join our growing GNSS simulation group and provide the technical leadership to create the next generation of simulation and test equipment. And this will not be limited to just GNSS but will include everything that forms a PNT solution.

Skydel ( is a software-defined and GPU-accelerated GNSS simulator for advance defense, aerospace and commercial applications. Skydel is a disrupting software and after years of improvements, refinements and exponential growth, we are ready to change to paradigm again.

What you'll be doing as a Senior GNSS Architect:

  • Acting as the design lead for advanced PNT systems, applying the latest technology to create new solutions for our customers, architecting HW and SW in new ways. This is a Senior Engineering Design position.

  • Increasing the Intellectual Property of Orolia by obtaining patents and creating innovative systems and software.

  • Providing expertise, direction and assistance to the other development engineers, inspiring them to create innovative solutions.

  • Communicating and reporting technological progress both internally (management and employees) and externally (marketing and shareholders).

Experience/Education Requirements

  • Graduate degree in one or more of the following disciplines: Electrical or Computer Engineering, Physics, Aerospace, Systems, or Systems Engineering

  • 10+ years of relevant experience

  • Understanding of GPS, GNSS and other forms of navigation;ideally, a senior design engineer capable of designing a GNSS receiver from scratch

  • Digital Signal processing knowledge, understanding of RF design up to 5 GHz

  • Systems design experience in building HW and SW for test systems

  • Appetite to solve complex problems- cannot sleep until it's solved!

  • Global Collaboration- ability to work in a multicultural ennvironment

  • Technical leadership and an entreprenurial spirit

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities We're Looking For:

  • Simulation experience

  • Autonomy to experiment and develop models in Matlab and/or Python

  • Development of GPU-based algorithms

  • Strong coaching skills to transfer knowledge and support software developers- not need to be a software development expert yourself, but must understand programming and algorithm development to support the science side (maths, GNSS, physics) of software development

  • Knowledge of orbital mechanics, estimation theory, Kalman Filtering, sensor fusion

  • Knowledge of RF circuitry

  • Willingness to relocate to Montreal, Canada; Nantes, France; or Rochester, NY USA

  • Fluent in French and English
