FIFCO USA Strategic Sourcing Specialist - Raw Materials in Rochester, New York


The Procurement Sourcing Specialist will support company-wide efforts to develop and maintain strategic relationships with both regional and global suppliers who provide materials or services to our company, ensuring they meet our quality and cost specifications as well as delivery timeline. The Sourcing Specialist will continuously scan the market for new suppliers and innovate solutions that can best advance our business.

JOB TYPE: Non-Exempt


  • Lead strategic sourcing initiatives including the development of comprehensive RFP’s and contract negotiations within assigned categories

  • Drive year-over-year cost savings and productivities within assigned categories ensuring that goods and services are procured with the highest quality, at the best price, and with the shortest lead time with our vendor and agency partners

  • Manage categories by developing sourcing strategies, commodity assessments, engaging stakeholders, and leveraging corporate FIFCO as needed

  • Ensure RFP’s and contracts are executed and documented according to the Procurement standards

  • Develop annual productivity initiatives/projects and ensure savings are realized through the annual OB process

  • Provide and update category/commodity short and long term strategies and share findings with stakeholders and management

  • Collaborate with department stakeholders to evaluate supplier performance

  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors and internal stakeholders

  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge of respective global supply markets, competitors, and product innovations

  • Promote zero-tolerance for violations of procurement policies and procedures

  • Control spend and build a culture of long-term savings on procurement costs

  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness

  • Represent Procurement in business meetings and lead supplier business review meetings on a regular basis

  • Develop procurement strategies that are inventive and cost effective

  • Negotiate with suppliers/agencies and review contract to secure advantageous terms

  • Attend on-site supplier/distribution center visits, trade shows, conferences, and supplier meetings

  • Discover profitable suppliers and initiate procurement partnerships to ensure a robust supply base and secure goods and services by building a preferred vendor library

  • Make effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project

  • Actively exhibit a commitment to support a diverse and inclusive work environment


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or Engineering preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in Supplier Management, Procurement and/or Contract Negotiations

  • 2+ years of experience in sub-category management preferred

  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) required
