Warehouse Manager

Position Summary:

Directs warehousing activities for organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establishes operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of material, and keeping warehouse inventory to count

  • Reviews shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments and shipping methods to meet established shipping and receiving schedules

  • Inspects physical condition of warehouse and equipment

  • Prepares work order for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment

  • Confers with department heads to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other functions such as production and purchasing

  • Directs salvage of damaged or used material

  • Participates in planning personnel safety and plant protection activities

  • Responsible for Food Safety and the reassessment for adequacy of the HACCP Plan (pre-requisites) at least annually and whenever any changes occur that could affect its hazard analysis or alter the HACCP Plan

  • Coach, mentor and develop staff, including preparing and conducting employee performance appraisal

  • Maintain employee work schedules including timecard approval, work assignments, job rotation, training, vacations and paid time off

  • Report food safety & quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action

Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Associates degree in Business Administration

  • 5 years of previous supervisory experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment (food and/or beverage preferred)

  • Oracle inventory software, Microsoft Office, Scanning Guns

Working Conditions:

  • Frequently exposed to extreme cold & heat and moving machinery

  • Potential exposure to chemicals

  • Noise level is usually very loud

  • Frequently lift and or move up to 25 pounds

  • Occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment
