Pain Management

Full-Time, Day Shift, 7:00AM-3:00PM

Responsibilities include:

Provides direct and indirect care to patients during the pain management experience.

Observes patient upon admission to Pain Management.

Helps plan nursing intervention based on Plan of Care derived from knowledge of the patients' health status and knowledge of the procedure to be performed.

Scrubs, sets up table according to OR and Management standards.

Maintains sterile technique.

Provides for patient safety and comfort.

Assists surgeon and Physicians, anticipates needs, and establishes appropriate priorities.

Handles instruments, supplies and equipment properly.

Performs activities that foster a culture of safety within the department and organization.

Identifies safety/risk reduction strategies and communicates these to department director or designee.

Assumes additional responsibilities as directed.

Qualifications include:

Education: High School diploma or GED.

Certification:Certification as an Operating Room Surgical Technician.

Experience/skills:Prior experience working in a Pain Management setting within an acute care hospital preferred.
