Medical Records Clerk – Saratoga Cardiology - FT

What you will do:
The Medical Records Clerk is responsible for the release of Information for personal, medical, legal and insurance purposes.
Provide records for subpoenas in a timely manner.
Review medical records of expired patients to determine notification of coroner, if appropriate, process autopsy requests and obtain a signed death certificate.
Performs ongoing auditing of incomplete records.
Knowledge of HIPAA policies and procedures.
Data entry of ambulatory surgery cases, congenital anomaly and clinical documentation tracking systems.
Update deficiencies in tracking system for inpatient and outpatient records.
Files transcribed reports in records and updates deficiencies.
Enter deficiencies for records as needed.
What you will need:
High School Diploma
Six months to one year medical record experience preferred.
Two years clerical experience in other office environment accepted.
Candidate should have excellent communication skills.
Orientation to accuracy and details required.
Basic computer skills.
