Aerotek is looking to I MMEDIATELY HIRE GENERAL LABORERS to support an opportunity near SELKIRK, NY!!

POSITION : Construction General laborer

• Perform production labor work necessary to assist with the manufacturing of high quality concrete products including, but not limited to, wall panels, highway traffic barriers, columns, and sound walls.

PAY RATE: $19/hr

SHIFT : 10-12 hour shifts, Monday - Friday. Start time 5am

TYPICAL DAY

As a part of the casting crew, you could be involved in the following:

1. Working with a team to create molds out of metal rebar (includes measuring, cutting and assembling)

2. Working with the pouring crew to direct the concrete into the molds as the truck slowly drives down the middle. ensuring that the concrete is level and no air bubbles are present while the material dries.

3. Break the dry final product out of the molds.

4. Measuring the final product to make sure it meets the correct metrics

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist heavy machinery operators in moving concrete slabs

• Tracking materials and logging their movement in the yard

• Being physically active throughout entirety of shifts.

MUST HAVES:

Comfortable working entirely outdoors in all weather conditions (snow, rain, wind)

Ability to stand, lift, bend for 10-12 hours (duration of shift)

Ability to read, write, and follow directions

Ability to read tape measure and blueprints

Good communication and teamwork skills

Ability to operate machinery safely

Ability to work extensive overtime when required

Knowledge of concrete mixes

Must own steel toed boots

RELEVANT SKILLS FOR THE POSITION:

Prior experience in construction, masonry, roofing, handling concrete, knowledge of power and hand tools, heavy lifting
