Helio Health Inc. Counselor II - Child & Adolescent Program in Syracuse, New York
The Child and Adolescent Clinic is designed to offer a comfortable and safe space for children ages 0-21 seeking help with behavioral health issues such as: substance use disorders, mental health disorders, and developmental disabilities.
The Counselor II - Child & Adolescent Clinic is located in the Syracuse outpatient building.

The Counselor II position will maintain a case load and perform essential counseling responsibilities including screening, intake and orientation, evaluation and intervention, treatment planning, referrals, crisis intervention, counseling, patient education, case management, reporting and record keeping.
The Counselor II will assist with the training of staff, volunteers and student interns as assigned.

Qualified Health Professional (NYS Licensure - LMSW, LMHC, LMFT) Or Provisional/able to work on Permit.
Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred
Two years employment experience in the Human Services field/Behavioral Healthcare
An equivalent combination of training and experience may be substituted for the educational requirements
Knowledge of the bio psycho social process of substance use disorders/recovery, behavioral health. self-help group process and principles of counseling
Sound judgment and cultural competency
Ability to relate effectively with staff, patients and professional community
Ability to perform duties independently
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proficiency with basic computer applications
