Seeking Experienced candidates with SOFTWARE ENGINEER backgrounds for an exciting REMOTE opportunity in Project Management. Candidates must be willing to travel to worksite periodically (estimated 1-2x/quarter) but can be based out of any location. Priority given to candidates within a few hour's drive of Detroit, MI; Alexandria, VA; Boston, MA; Orlando, FL; Dayton, OH; San Diego, CA; or Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD

Description:

Must have experience in the Software Development Life Cycle within the aerospace, defense, and/or automotive industry

• Take ownership of tasks related to project scope

• Interface with various vendors/prime and sub contractors to work through project timing and performance

• Attend project meetings to discuss progress / status updates and goals moving forward

• Take meeting minutes

• Conduct trade off studies

• Prepare PowerPoint presentations

• Budget planning

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• 5+ years of relevant work experience required for remote role.

• Hybrid opportunities available for candidates with less experience but must live in the Detroit area

  • Software Engineering background required.

• This is a hands-on role working closely with software team so candidates must understand software best practices, limitations, considerations, what realistic expectations are within software development, etc.

  • Formal Project Management experience strongly preferred, but open to Software Engineers with leadership experience looking to transition into project management

  • Aerospace, Defense, and/or Automotive industry experience strongly preferred

• Excellent writing and presentation skills (PowerPoint)

• Experience with electrical systems

• Highly organized

• Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar required.

  • Eligibility for Department of Defense Secret level Security Clearance required

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification nice to have
