Regeneron Pharmaceuticals R&D Associate (Viral Vector Technologies) in Tarrytown, New York

The Viral Vector Technologies group is currently seeking a curious and motivated Research Associate to join our fast-paced team. The successful candidate must have previous mouse handling experience and strong interest in expanding in vivo skills as the role will lend in vivo support to multiple projects including characterization of novel Adeno-associated virus (AAV) vectors and development of cutting-edge gene therapy tools and platforms.

As an R&D Associate in Viral Vector Technologies, a typical day may include the following:

  • Time in vivarium injecting mice, collecting blood or tissue samples, or performing live in vivo bioluminescent imaging (60%)

  • Time at bench running ELISAs, Western Blots, or performing IHC or RNAScope on automated equipment (20%)

  • Time at desk updating notes from experiments, analyzing data generated from bench work, and making slides to summarize projects and data generated (15%)

  • Time in meetings discussing data from projects and planning/coordinating follow-up work (5%)

To be considered for this role, you must have a BS/MS with a minimum of 1-2 years of hands-on animal and wet lab experience preferred. Proven experience with mouse handling, various injection techniques, rodent blood collection is required. Familiarity with histology, tissue staining, and imaging techniques is desired. Experience with ELISAs, Western Blots, and qPCR a plus. We are seeking someone that can work methodically with moderate supervision. Expect opportunities to analyze and present data and contribute to projects intellectually as skill level increases. Strong organization and communication skills are essential as the projects under this role are highly collaborative.
