West Valley. Plant Systems Sr Operator Specialist. CH2MHill BWXT West Valley, LLC. FT. 1st Shift. Benefits. Posting Closed: 06/24/2021 Maintain plant systems operations by performing a wide variety of operational responsibilities including complex tasks, utilize unique skills in highly specialized assignments. Assume duties as Acting Lead when assigned by management. May be designated to assist supervision as the person in charge of giving work direction to employees in their own specific classifications and/or other crafts on specific jobs. Employees in this capacity may be required to perform the work of their classification for which they have been trained and can accomplish the work safely. When designated as an Acting Lead, Senior Specialists will comply with Article 8, Section 1A. This position has a Continuous Rotating 12-hour shift work schedule. Qualifications & Experience: High School education with courses in algebra, chemistry, and/or physics. Experience as a Plant Systems Operations Specialist or equivalent. Other Requirements: * Must be able to successfully complete the training requirements of a Plant Systems Senior Operations Specialist, Labor Grade 9, including Incident Commander and Timely Notification Officer training, in accordance with the time limits specified in the collective bargaining agreement. * Must be able to successfully maintain all other qualifications deemed necessary. * Operate tools and equipment necessary to perform jobs. * Must be able to obtain and maintain a HSPD-12 badge which requires an Office of Personnel Management (OPM) background investigation, OPM clearance for this badge is required following hire. Licenses/Certifications: * Must possess a valid drivers license. Essential Functions: Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. 1. Operate various tools, equipment and systems to complete job requirements including, but not limited to, fork trucks, hoisting and rigging equipment, power tools, man lifts and utilities by following manufacturers instructions and established procedures, troubleshooting, adhering to good operating practices, making adjustments, calling for repairs. Perform minor maintenance activities such as tightening packaging nuts on valves, trimming vegetation, changing light bulbs, etc. 5. Complete job requirements by performing a variety of decontamination/contamination control tasks including waste packaging, decontamination, and equipment removal.
