Job Description:

The Quality Manager leads and oversees all company Quality initiatives. This includes:

  • Lead Quality Inspection team
  • Review of contract Quality clauses
  • Physical inspection of incoming, in-process and final products
  • Equipment calibration and certification
  • Material Review Board participation
  • Customer corrective actions
  • Internal and external audits
  • Quality process training of employees
  • Continuous process improvement; ownership of Quality KPIs

He/she is responsible for establishing and promulgating company Quality plans, policies, and procedures to meet or exceed internal and external customer requirements and expectations.

This is a hands-on, highly functional Quality Management position.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Process control for Quality Management issues-

  • Champion company Quality procedures, processes and work instructions

Customer relationships and support-

  • Lead resolution of customer Quality issues concerning audits, corrective and preventative actions
  • Arrange and champion Gov and Customer Source Inspections (GSI/CSI)
  • Learn and maintain customer Quality portals

Audits-

  • Lead and support AS9100 audits, main POC/liaison for external audit partners
  • Schedule and champion internal audits; train internal auditors.
  • Support DCMA audits

* Contract Review for Quality clauses and Program/Operations support-*

  • Support the Program Office and Product Managers to move product through the shop floor to out the door
  • Champion the creation of Certificate of Compliance (C of C), packing lists and other shipping documents
  • Review Engineering drawings and change notices

Record Keeping-

  • Oversee, generate and maintain all company Quality records and documents

Equipment Calibration-

  • Arrange and champion internal and external company equipment calibrations and certifications
  • Conduct internal inspections on manufacturing equipment and tools including hand crimpers, calipers and wire strippers

Physical Inspection of Product-

  • Oversee, and at times, conduct incoming, in-process and final inspection of raw materials and product -
  • Champion First Article Inspection (FAIs) from as-designed benchmark down to component level and include traceability
  • Verify System configurations

Personnel Management-

  • Direct four (4) Quality Inspectors

Training-

  • Conduct operator and personnel training:
  • ESD, FOD, Hazards Materials, Counterfeit parts and other required Quality training
  • Creation and maintenance of training logs

Required Skills:

  • 8+ years of Quality Management experience
  • 5+ years of AS9100 QMS and audit support experience
  • 5+ years of experience reviewing mechanical/engineering drawings; working knowledge and proficiency using calipers and measuring gauges
  • 8+ years of leadership/management experience (team of four Quality Inspectors)
  • Presentation skills with Office suite acumen: Word, Excel and Power Point
  • This position requires either a US Person or a non-US Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience conducting Quality Management meetings
  • Present company quality data to senior management team
  • Ability to interpret complicated data; drawing and presenting conclusions
  • Ability to make difficult decisions in the best interest of the company
  • Working knowledge of IPC-A-610
  • Working Knowledge of soldering to Mil-Std J-Std-001 soldering spec
  • Ability to have difficult conversations with co-workers, suppliers and customers addressing potential Quality deficiencies
  • Self motivated, self managed
  • Quality Certifications preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • This role alternates between sitting and standing for periods greater than 50% of each day with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds, up to 4 feet off the ground 3 to 4 times a day.
